Micro Rainbow

Micro Rainbow International’s vision is to create a world where LGBT people are free from discrimination, persecution and have equal opportunities in life, including in accessing employment, training, education, financial services, healthcare, housing, places of faith, and public service. In the UK, Micro Rainbow International promotes integration of LGBT asylum seekers and refugees through a holistic approach that includes housing, economic empowerment and social inclusion. Their main activities include:

• Running safe homes to provide housing exclusively for LGBT asylum seekers and refugees.
• Delivering a variety of employability workshops with corporate partners and support LGBT refugees to secure NI numbers, sign up for Universal Credit and open bank accounts;
• Tackling the extreme isolation faced by LGBT asylum seekers with weekly peer support groups; a monthly support group for LBTI women; 1-1 sessions with LGBT refugees in need of support.

Micro-Rainbow used investment to support the purchase of properties for LGBT asylum seekers and refugees.
