Established in 2015, Goldfinger is an award-winning social enterprise nestled underneath the Trellick Tower on the Golborne Road in West London, committed to showing the world that high-end design can and should be planet and people positive. They achieve this in several ways:
From their North Kensington wood and joinery workshop, they design and craft bespoke furniture and homeware for residential homes and many London businesses; from hotels to cafés, shops to offices. Many of their design classics are available to purchase from their online shop too.
Through their Goldfinger Academy, they teach marginalised young people the art of woodworking through their apprenticeship programme, so they can progress into meaningful work. They also offer public craft workshops - with free spaces offered to local residents on low income, designed to enhance wellbeing and celebrate the joy of making.
They're taking direct action and tackling food waste and social isolation through their charitable initiative, People's Kitchen. Every third Sunday of the month, they cook and deliver restaurant-quality meals (made from surplus food) to vulnerable residents in the local community, supported by their dedicated volunteers.
Funding from Postcode Innovation Trust, thanks to players of People's Postcode Lottery, will be used to invest in business development with the goal of expanding their business and increasing their environmental and social impact.
