Expert Impact supports social entrepreneurs to scale, with introductions, mentoring and advice from experts.
They run 'The Human Lending Library', through which social entrepreneurs can ‘borrow’ successful business leaders to help them solve their biggest challenges and scale fast. Founders of organisations making an impact in one or more of their target areas (education, environment, the arts, scientific research, poverty alleviation or healthcare) can apply online for a free hour-long meeting with one of their Experts. Expert Impact screen applications and match them with the Expert they feel is best suited to advise them with their issue. They also hold a range of events for social entrepreneurs and those interested in this industry designed to educate and inspire learning and create educational online resources/content to support as many people as possible around the world.
The funding from Postcode Innovation Trust will go towards funding the expansion of The Human Lending Library to two new locations outside of London – Manchester and Birmingham – and support hundreds more social entrepreneurs in the UK. Expert Impact will leverage its existing relationship with The British Library and their regional Business & IP Centre’s to get two new Human Lending Library’s up and running using their already developed ‘how to’ handbook and training programme. As well as these new Human Lending Libraries, funding will also support the development and launch of The Alumni Network - a structured support system for all social entrepreneurs who have benefitted from Expert Impact mentoring. The purpose of The Alumni Network is to support its members as they grow their businesses, to improve their personal/professional networks and to alleviate the isolation which so many founders experience when building a company.
